Dasara, Ugadi, Deccan Festival, Brahmotsavam, Pitr, Sankranthi, Tyagaraja Festivals are celebrated in the State of Andhra Pradesh.


Dussehra

दशहरा कब माना जाता हे ? दशहरा कब पालन मनाया जाता है ? दशहरा कब पालन किया जाता है ?

Dussehra is also known as Vijayadashami, Dasara, or Dashain. This is a major Hindu festival which is celebrated reveres (सम्मान करते) Durga's and Rama's victory over evil. This festival falls during the month of September or October (which is the tenth day in the Hindu calendar month of Ashvin, the seventh month of the Hindu Luni-Solar Calendar).


दशहरा के दिन क्या हुआ था ? दशहरा के दिन क्या क्या घटनायें घटि थि ?

  • On this day we remembering goddess Durga's victory over the buffalo's demon Mahishasura to restore and protect dharma.
  • We also remember the god Rama's victory over the Ravan. As Lord Ram kill the Ravana whose one head has ten head that's why it's called as Dasara or Dashahra.
  • and also on this day Arjuna alone decimated (बरबाद करना) more than 1,000,000 soldiers and defeated (हराना) all Kuru warriors including Bhishma, Drona, Ashwatthama, Karna and Kripa, which is a significant example of the victory of good (Dharma) over evil (Adharma).


Ugadi

उगाडि कब माना‍या जाता हे ? उगाडि कब पालन मनाया जाता है ? उगाडि कब पालन किया जाता है ? उगाडि क्यौं पालन किया जाता है ? When do Ugadi festival celebrate ? What is Ugadi celebrated for? 

Ugadi is also known as Samvatsarādi. This is celebrated as New Year in the State of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka. This will fall in the month of April. It is the 1st day of Chaitra. "Ugadi" word derived from the Sanskrit word yuga which means "the beginning of a new age"


Brahmotsavam

ब्रह्मोत्सवम कब माना‍या जाता हे ? उगाडि कब पालन किया जाता है ?  When do Brahmotsavam festival celebrate ?  Where do Brahmotsavam festival celebrate ?  

Sri Venkateswara Swami vari Brahmotsavam or Srivari Brahmotsavam is an elaborate festival celebrated at the Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala-Tirupati of Chittoor district of state Andhra Pradesh. This festival lasts for one month which falls in between the month of September and October. A Brahmotsavam is a cleansing ceremony in honor of Lord Brahma, and the ceremony at Tirumala is the largest.


Pitr-Paksha

पित्र पक्ष कब माना‍या जाता हे ? पित्र पक्ष कब पालन किया जाता है ? पित्र पक्ष क्या है ? When do Pitr-Pakshya festival celebrate ?  Where do Pitr-Pakshya festival celebrate ?  

Pitru Paksha/Pitr-Paksha is a period of 16–lunar day period in the Hindu calendar when Hindus pay homage (श्रद्धा) to their ancestor (Pitrs), especially by offerings food to them. It normally falls in September / October. According to Hinduism, the souls of three preceding generations of one's ancestor reside in Pitriloka, a realm between heaven and earth. The ancestor will come to the descendent house for a month until there is a full moon. So, the people offer food to their ancestors during this time.
